After we left Joshua Tree we carried on from the south entrance at Cottonwood, over the I-10 and took the road toward the Salton Sea and Mecca. Our neighbour at Palm Springs had told us about Box Canyon. It is a short drive through some spectacular formations. There are boondocking spots in the canyon but as it really is nothing more than a very deep wash we would be very hesitant o camp there. My photos did not come out very well so I found some online that show the canyon way better than I could. Go to the Box Canyon section of the South West page.
Here are mine.
I am going to miss the South West next year if we can't make it back.
Thanks for following along and don't be a Blurker, leave us a comment!
I think your photos are great, Dee! But, wait!! You're not going to the SW next year?? We were looking forward to meeting up with you again!
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping to, but it all depends on our Canadian Dollar and if we are better equipped to do more boondocking.
