For anyone wishing to replace their fluorescent lights with LEDs, Camping World has Double Pancake lights on sale. We bought some a couple of months ago and have installed them, in preparation for when we start doing some serious boondocking. We also bought the bezels.

Update!!!!
April 16th, 2012
We bought these A month ago for just $39 per light fitting!! This price is crazy!
Thanks for the tip. We replaced the bulbs in two fixtures with LED bulbs for $20.00 each and that takes care of our boondocking lighting.
ReplyDeleteOK, here is a stupid question. How do you install the lights? Do you have to do a total rewire?
ReplyDeleteyup... we replaced some of our motorhome light fixtures with LED bulbs. Sure helps when we are boondocking compared to the regular light bulbs in the 12 volt fixtures.
ReplyDeleteWhen the kids come along (grown kids, mind you) I have to remind them that leaving a light bulb on in the rig needlessly is drawing the same power as leaving the dome light on in their cars! And how many times have they had dead batteries in the morning from doing that?
Then they understand!
So if they leave four or five or six of our lights on and waltz out the door, that is multiple needless drains on our batteries.

The lights have gone up considerably in price. We paid $39 per pancake light, they are now over $60 per light.
