Where are we today?
The Chateau at Lake San Marcos
This morning we were up early and set off for the desert. First stop was at Dudley's Bakery to pick some Almond Coffee Cake and a loaf of Rosemary Bread. We took a quick drive through Julian and carried on up to the Anzo Borrego State Park.

Then looked for a place for lunch and found a Mexican Restaurant called
Pablito's Mexican Bar and Grill where we had a really nice meal. The restaurant is wonderful with a great menu and reasonable prices. Michael and I shared 2 beef tacos, beans and rice. I totally forgot to take pictures.
After lunch we drove over to The Salton Sea.

Great photos. We loved that area. The Salton Sea is such an interesting area. Don't miss the slabs. Enjoy. ~wheresweaver
ReplyDeleteLoved Borrego Springs over 120 sculptures there fun to search them all out. The Salton sea is interesting and sad, too bad you didn't get to Slab City.
ReplyDeleteWe were at the Salton Sea two years ago and we were there when the smell wasn't bad at all. Thank goodness. However, we have not made it up to Borrego Springs and I really want to do that.
ReplyDeleteBorrego Springs is one of our favs AND to top it off, you found our fav eating place. Such good food, services and prices...what else could anyone ask for?
ReplyDeleteWe only got a taste of the Anzo Borrego/Salton Sea area, as we did a day trip in the car. Next time we will spend some time up there and see all 120 sculptures and Slab City. Saw lots of RVs parked at Peg Leg and other places out in the BLM lands or wherever. Salton Sea is very sad. Met some people at West Shores RV Park who have been coming there for many years. They cannot even bring boats into the harbour any more.
