I've left Michael!

To stay overnight at V's home. She is in a lot of pain from her Christmas Day fall and could not get out of bed this morning. The doc thinks it is a deep tissue injury with a hematoma which has burst. The bruising, which was not apparent the first few days, now reaches almost up to her waist. So here I am, sleeping in a building for the first time in a long while. She has been advised to take it easy with a minimal amount of walking. So no adventures this week. Hopefully next week she will be well enough to do something.

Meanwhile I have downloaded a couple of books for her to read on her new Kindle Touch. One of them is called Motohuma the Firehead by Jennifer Munro. It is the story of a girl born and raised in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe (where I was born and raised) whose family has a big secret. Quite an enjoyable read. The other one is The Peachkeeper.

Bought roast chicken and salad for dinner and two videos to watch, Secretariat and some Keanu Reeves movie. C'est la vie!

  1. So sorry to hear about V. It is difficult watching family in such pain. My heart goes out to you and V. Movies are always a great relaxing backup.

  6. I can't believe the bruising is all the way up her leg. She must feel miserable. So glad you are there to help her through this! Hope she enjoys her reading material.

  7. Wonderful Wednesdays! What a great gift. The greatest gift, I believe, is yourself. . . a gift of yourself and your time.

Neighbors used to take Ms. Tennison (DH's grandmother) out on Tuesdays. They called it Tennison Tuesdays.

I know she looked forward to it!
