Where are we today?
Bulow RV Park, Flagler Beach, Florida
It was just a short drive down to Flagler Beach where we checked in to Bulow RV Park. This is an Encore resort, between St Augustine and Daytona. We are here for 6 nights.
Park Review.
The Good
This is a very quiet Thousand Trails/Encore property so the rates (for us) are very reasonable. The lots are big and you can have 30 amp or 50 amp. There are a lot of tent sites as well. A few of the big rig sites have a small concrete patio pad. The Live Oaks are beautiful and some of the sites have full shade. There is a very nice dog run area which Timmy appreciated. The Office/store and the Roadhouse Bar are newer buildings. Next to the bar are new bathrooms and are all very clean. The pool area looks well maintained, but the water is a bit too cold for us. It is very close to some beautiful beaches and lots of flat water in the Tomoka Basin for canoeing or kayaking. The Tomoka Basin runs for several miles just a tad inland from the ocean. Good base for exploring both St Augustine and Daytona.
The Bad
Some areas in this park are very run down. The old club house is losing it's roof and it looks as if they had blue tarps on it to protect the insides from rain. The tarps are shredded and the bits are still hanging off the roof. Maybe it is some kind of hurricane damage from ??? The inside of the building is in bad shape with the ceiling falling in. What used to be gym has a falling in roof and damaged walls. No equipment. The laundry in the building is pretty shabby but the machines do work. Maybe they will renovate, maybe they will just tear it down. I hope they do something because it is not a pretty site the way it is.
Except for one set of bathrooms near the Roadhouse Bar, the other bathrooms very run down and shabby, but they are clean.
The Ugly
The dumpsters are open and there is a lot of trash lying around. It seems that the flock of turkey buzzards in the area come here for lunch every day.

This morning the sun was shining, the birds were singing, there was no wind. It is actually a very nice campground. We will come back here if we are in this area again.
