Where are we today?
The Oaks at Point South
Michael opened the fridge door two days ago and it fell right off. The silly plastic hinge at the bottom left corner had broken. A call to Norcold and we are told that we will have to replace the whole door. How ridiculous is that! I went onto the Kodiak chassis forum on Yahoo and it seems this is a common problem with Norcold refrigerators.
We got some epoxy from the nearby RV dealership which held the hinge on for 24 hours, then it fell off again. Our next nearest Norcold repair center is in Jacksonville, Florida, so we will have to cope with the door as it is until then. About 10 days before we get there. So frustrating.
Tomorrow we leave to go just a short distance to Hilton Head Harbor and Marina RV Park. I have my best friend from high school in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) who lives there now. We do get together quiet frequently in Toronto. This is the first time I am visiting her on her home turf. Should be fun.
I hate it when things like that happen, hopefully it is still under warranty!
ReplyDeleteYes we do still have an extended warranty. Thank goodness!
DeleteGood luck with the fridge repair, Our Norcold is 13 years old and still going strong so I guess we got lucky.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the visit with your friend.
I can't believe a fridge door can't be fixed. But that seems to be true for lots of things any more. You're going to have such a good time at Hilton Head you won't have time to think about the fridge.
