The 2X2X2 Rule

Where are we today?
Oceanside Country Club

We will have about 2 to 3 weeks to get home, I have worked out a route, following some recommendations from my sister who has blazed the trail. A couple of things we have to do,

1. Look at getting solar power installed in Phoenix
2. Stop at Jayco in Middlebury, Indiana for some motorhome repairs
3. Be in Ontario by April 29th to meet the Ontario (free) Health Care requirements, 6 months plus 1 day residency in a calendar year.

Stops planned for at least 2 days in each place. Going with the 2X2X2 rule as far as possible.

Never travel more than 200 miles. Never stay less than 2 days. Never get to each destination after 2 pm. Lets see how that works out!

  2. Never heard of that rule but it is a good one to drive by. Be safe as you travel. ~wheresweaver

  3. Looks like your going across I-70, which will take you right by the Weeb Ranch. We are just about 30 miles from the MO -IL border, at the Hwy 40-61/I-64 exit. Let us know if you want to stop for a visit. Free parking. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

  4. Travel safely and have fun. Not sure where you come up with OHIP info but their website says we need to be in Ontario for 153 days in any 12 month period. http://www.ontla.on.ca/library/repository/mon/ont/h/2000/ohip_eligibility.htm

  5. Yup.. we like the 2x2x2 rule too (except when we have to rush home to get back to work..argghhh)

We LOVE LOVE LOVE being solared up! We have 400 watts on the roof now, and Steveio is adding one more panel. We have four 6v golf cart batteries, and will soon swap those out for six new ones, and move our chassis (engine) batteries to a new rack in the engine compartment to make more room in our drawer for the six.

This time we might invent in Trojans 6volt batts, as they seem to give the best performance over time, especially if you never drain them below 50% it can really make them last longer over the years.
